Govt Issues Demands After Viral Video Of Indian Man Mistreating Employees

The Kenya Tourism Authority has written to Taita Hills and Spa and Salt Lick Wildlife Resort management, demanding an explanation regarding multiple allegations of harassment, racial abuse, and mistreatment of workers at the resort.

In a viral video seen by The Kenya Times, the resort’s general manager is seen yelling at staff and pouring food that some employees were preparing.

In a demand letter obtained by The Kenya Times, the Authority noted that numerous complaints had been reported against the establishment.

“We have received numerous anonymous complaints regarding your employee and general manager, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, ranging from allegations of infringements on employees’ rights, including racial discrimination, verbal and physical harassment, denial of employee benefits such as leave, and abusive and violent behavior.

This is contrary to the provisions of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, employment laws, and the minimum standards expected of a licensed facility within the sector,” the statement read.
