A cloud of grief has engulfed Tang’a village in Mugirango West, Nyamira county after a teacher allegedly took his own life.
According to a Monday, February 20 report by Citizen TV, the educator said to have committed suicide by throwing himself into a swamp after he was conned Ksh1.5 million.
38-year-old Josek Ondara, a teacher at Gesoro mixed secondary school left a suicide note in which he revealed that a lady only identified as Carolyne was threatening to kill him.

According to police, Ondara is said to have been swindled by persons with whom they had purchased two parcels of land.
“There were people who owed him money. The first group had Ondara’s Ksh800,000 while the second group Ksh700,000,” a police officer said.
In another incident, a 40-year-old man from Nairobi’s Kilimani area also took his own life by jumping from a building.
Police say the man committed suicide at Dennis Garden Apartment after the third attempt.
Eyewitnesses say the man who is yet to be identified was seen walking alone for about ten minutes before he jumped off the building.
It is further reported that no suicide note was left though a cellphone was recovered from his pocket.
The body of the deceased was moved to mortuary as police proceed with investigations.
