The fight against the notorious gang in Haiti by the Kenyan Police continues to rage hot. The Gran Griff gang, led by notorious Elan Luckson has invented a new trick aimed at outsmarting the Kenyan police in the Multinational Security Support (MSS) that aims to stabilize the country as well as combat gang violence.
A statement posted on social media by the MSS team revealed the new trick by the gang that is geared at giving them a shooting advantage.
“The Gran Griff gang, led by notorious Elan Luckson, has been frantically drilling holes in the walls of abandoned houses to give them shooting advantage,” the MSS statement read in part.
At the same time, MSS attributed their success in outwitting the gang to the collective engagement between locals, MSS and the Haitian National Police (HNP). The team effort has forced the gang to scamper.
“Determined and focused locals have been assisting in bush clearing on the edges of main roads at Pont-Sonde.
Moreover, the MSS statement revealed that gangs have been hiding in those bushes as they wait to attack innocent pedestrians and hijack tracks for ransom. A vice that has significantly subsided since the arrival of MSS and HNP teams in the area.

The Locals Determined to End Violence
An unprecedented sight to behold has been witnessed at Pont-Sonde over the last week when determined locals joined hands with MSS and HNP teams to clear the bushes along the main roads that impede the free movement of vehicles and human traffic.
This follows constant joint dominance day and night patrols by MSS/HNP that have been consistent in recent operations at the Carrefour Paye-Artibonite Department targeting key gang leaders and their followers.
The joint MSS/HNP patrols have targeted R1 Road (National Road 1) connecting Pont-Sonde to Gonaive and Carrefour Paye connecting to Savien, where locals have joined hands to clear and fill the trenches that gangs had dug.
This has enabled the local populace to move freely and enjoy the relative calmness that they have missed for a long time, filling the gangs’ heinous activities in the areas.

MSS Extends Gratitude to Haiti Locals
The MSS has sincerely thanked the locals at Artibonite for their determination to work together and keep away the gangs that have caused untold suffering and deaths in the area.
“As MSS, we reiterate and assure Haitians that security operations that include day and night joint patrols will be sustained until the notorious gang leaders and their members are arrested,” MSS asserted.
Moreover, MSS also extended its appreciation to local and international stakeholders for their relentless support and contributions to the mission.
Notably, this has seen more resources and equipment delivered in the recent past to enable smooth operations.
“As we wait for more contributing countries to deploy, we call for patience, continuous collaboration, and cooperation. These are key factors for the success of the MSS Mission,” the MSS statement reiterated. MSS affirmed its commitment to ensuring that Haiti starts living again.
