Willis Ayieko, the Wells Fargo Human Resource (HR) Manager, was found dead near a stream in Nyamninia sub-location within Gem, Siaya County five days after he was reported missing.
An autopsy conducted by Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor on Tuesday, October 29 revealed that Willis Ayieko died of head injuries.
Before his demise, Ayieko was the Group HR Director at Wells Fargo, a position he has held since December 2015.
Throughout his tenure at Wells Fargo, he was accountable for developing a comprehensive HR strategy and policies that align with the organisation’s regional goals and objectives.
From January 2012 to November 2015, Ayieko served as the Group Head of HR at GardaWorld, where he focused on optimizing organizational performance and increasing employee engagement.

He established a positive employer brand through effective HR strategies and change management and ensured fair and transparent job grading and salary structure, enhancing employee benefits.
Willis Ayieko Working at Tradewinds Aviation Services Ltd
Prior to that, he worked as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Tradewinds Aviation Services from July 2011 to December 2012.
In this role, he emphasized positive employee relations and provided guidance on various employee-related issues.
From March 2010 to June 2011, Ayieko operated as an HR and Quality Assurance Consultant, where he shaped corporate HR policies promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
He successfully implemented an automated HR system that streamlined processes and reduced administrative burdens while providing training opportunities to support employee development.

Wells Fargo Boss Career at Kenya Airways
Ayieko’s journey in human resources began at Kenya Airways in 2001, where he rose steadily through the ranks.
He started working as a Management Trainee at Kenya Airways Group from July 2000 to November 2001.

Following that, he became the Duty Manager for Ramp Services, a position he held for three years and two months.

In July 2004, Willis Ayieko was promoted to Learning and Development Specialist, a role he maintained until September 2008.
He then rose to the position of Learning and Development Coordinator, serving for one year and one month.
Additionally, he worked as a Graduate Teacher with the Teachers Service Commission for six months and served as an Education Officer with the National Museums of Kenya from July 199 to April 1999.
In addition to his professional roles, Ayieko has contributed to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as a faculty member since January 2010, sharing his expertise in HR and training within the aviation sector.
Education Background
He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resource Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) between 2010 and 2011.
Ayieko also obtained a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in English from 1994 to 1998 from Kenyatta University.
Ayieko was married to Esther Agumba and they were blessed with two children – a boy and a girl.
