The National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Project has invited interested candidates to apply for jobs and training opportunities.
In a statement issued on July 11, 2025, NYOTA announced that successful applicants will undergo life skills training, be placed in real work environments, gain and refine practical skills, build confidence, and improve their chances of securing employment.
“Intake alert! We are calling on youth to apply for On-the-Job Experience (OJE), an opportunity for them to gain hands-on skills, real-world exposure, and a head start in their career journey,” read the announcement.
Applications are open from July 11 to August 15, 2025.
NYOTA Program
The program, which will be offered under its On-the-Job Experience (OJE) initiative, provides young Kenyans with an opportunity to gain practical workplace skills, enhance their employability, and earn a nationally recognized certificate.
Additionally, the NYOTA program targets unemployed youth aged 18 to 29, and up to 35 for persons with disabilities.
Applicants must have a minimum education level of Form Four or below.
The program is open to applicants from all 47 counties.
Successful applicants will undergo life skills training, business and digital skills courses, and mentorship from industry experts.
Participants will also benefit from a secure savings plan throughout the program.

How to Apply
Interested youth can apply by dialling *254#, selecting the NYOTA Project option, and following the instructions provided.
To apply, dial *254#. A prompt will appear—select NYOTA Project (Option 3).
Next, choose “Apply for NYOTA” (Option 1).
You will then be asked to select your preferred category under the program—choose On-the-Job Experience.
Follow the next prompt to apply, then accept the terms and conditions.
You will be required to answer a few questions:
- Do you have a disability?
- What is your highest level of education?
- Is the number you are using the one they can contact you on?
After completing these steps, submit your application. You will receive a confirmation message on your phone regarding your eligibility.
Applicants have been warned not to pay for any services under the NYOTA Project, as all programs are provided free of charge.

Program Highlights:

Duration: A 5-month apprenticeship combining hands-on training and mentorship by industry professionals.
