The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party aspirant for Embakasi North Jane Muringi has dismissed claims that she is stepping down her bid in favor of Jubilee’s Harrison Wangoro.
This follows ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna’s earlier statement that Muringi had agreed to step down for her Jubilee counterpart.
Moreover, Jane Muringi has confirmed that she is still in the race for Embakasi North and termed Sifuna’s claims propaganda.
“No amount of propaganda and intimidation will stop our journey to deliver Embakasi North from bad leadership,” she said.

In addition, the politician urged her supporters to stay steady, not to be swayed by propaganda spread by her opponents, who according to her have already sensed defeat.
Likewise, Muringi had contested for the same seat in 2017 on an ODM ticket, but lost to the incumbent James Gakuya of United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Moreover, Azimio-One Kenya coalition’s move to zone certain regions for constituent parties considered to be stronger has caused confusion, chaos and bitter exchange of words between the allies. Also, most of the candidates asked to step down have vowed to stay put and continue campaigning for their respective political bids.
Furthermore, supporters of the aspirants that have been fielded by constituent parties have also clashed during presidential campaign rallies attended by Azimio presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga.
The fracas started when the Azimio Council meeting held on Friday, June 24, approved zoning to counter opponents threatening to tear apart the alliance.
