Pascal Tokodi’s Rise from Talented Actor to Super Producer

Pascalino Lpesinoi Lenguro Tokodi, a 32-year-old Kenyan actor, was born on April 21, 1993, in Rongai and grew up in Rongai, Kajiado County, and Kiserian, Nairobi, Kenya.

He is the second-born in a family of nine, with three sisters and six brothers. Out of the nine, three boys are his biological siblings, his mother is a medical practitioner, and his father is a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officer.

Pascal is a multifaceted individual; he is an actor, film and Television Commercial (TVC) director, musician, and an entrepreneur.

He has directed advertisements for Safaricom’s Tunukiwa, Ilara Fresh Milk’s Mawowowo, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), and Telkom Kenya.

Educational Background

He had his primary education at St. Mary’s Primary School in Rongai.

Then he attended the esteemed Lenana School in Nairobi for his secondary education and completed it in 2011.

While at Lenana in form one, he got involved in the drama festivals, which amplified his acting career.

Acting Career

Pascal started acting in 2012 at Makutano Junction immediately after high school, having secured a contract while in form four.

In an interview with the Mic to Heart Podcast, he revealed that he had received two contracts, one from Tahidi High and the other from Makutano Junction, where he chose Makutano Junction.

His income from Makutano Junction enabled him to move out to a two-bedroom house in Ngong Road at 19.

After Makutano, he did the first-ever Kenyan musical, Groove Theory, for two seasons, which was aired on Zuku and K24.

While shooting sixty films, he decided not to just focus on acting, so he got involved with the crew. Even when he wasn’t shooting, he’d still be on set to learn.

In 2017, he was featured in Maisha Magic East’s Telenovela Selina, where he played Nelson.

He has also been featured in some Netflix shows like Disconnect and Disconnect 2: The Wedding Planner.

Pascal has also played iconic roles in Run Kenya, Get Me a Job, Pray and Pey, Marikiti Women, Midlife Crisis, Ayaanle, Familiar Christmas, Untying Kantai, and Makosa ni Yangu.

Family

In 2020, Pascal got married to a counselor, singer, songwriter, and former TV host, Grace Ekirapa.

They were blessed with a baby girl in April 2022, Jasmine Airah Lenguro Tokodi (AJ).

They later got divorced in early 2024, and they are currently co-parenting.

Music Journey

Pascal started singing when he was young. He would entertain his mother’s guests (Chamas).

In 2015, he released his first single, “Sitaki,” following his participation in the Tecno Own the Stage singing competition in Nigeria.

The competition was against music icons like Zuchu, Nandy, Shaapera, and Skin, and he managed to come out third and won a prize of one million Kenyan shillings.

He has released so many hit songs, including several collaborations with King Kaka.

Awards

Throughout his career, he has achieved awards. In 2018, he won the Kalasha Awards for Best Supporting Actor in Film for the film Disconnect, and in 2019, he was named Best Leading Actor in TV Drama for Selina by the Kalasha International Film and TV Awards.

The 2020 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) named him the Best Supporting Actor in a Movie or TV Series for the Disconnect film.

Pascal has established himself as a multi-talented force in the Kenyan entertainment industry, flawlessly blending his talents and inspiring people in the different fields he is exploring.
