Police Spokesperson Bruno Shioso has guaranteed Kenyans of security during the August general elections.
Shioso reported that the government has put sufficient measures in place to ensure the election process is smooth.
While speaking to Capital FM News on Wednesday, July 6, the police spokesperson confirmed that the state is committed to a peaceful election.
He further urged citizens to work together with the security agencies in their mission to keep Kenya safe before and after the election period.
“We have been in the thick of things, working with partners, planning for peaceful and secure elections. All plans are in place. We have ticked all the boxes on the roadmap, and we are committed to delivering peaceful elections,” Shioso stated.
Moreover, while commenting on the current state of security in the country, Shioso reported that most parts of the country are safe except for a few isolated cases.

Similarly, concerning the Nakuru County “Confirm Gang,” the police spokesperson noted that progress has been made to contain them. He then added that several members of the gang have since been arrested.
Nonetheless, Shioso mentioned that the curfews put in place in some of the areas have played major roles in restoring peace and security.
“People in those areas are actually very happy, for instance in Marsabit, the curfew was for one month, but we had to extend it for another month because people requested it, they told us they felt very safe with security officers in place,” he reported.
Furthermore, the police spokesperson said that without the curfews, insecurity would have negatively affected the coming August polls.
