Makueni Nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA) Urbanus Wambua Kyalo, who went missing on Saturday July 6, has been found.
According to reports, Wambua was allegedly abducted by individuals claiming to be police officers from Embu.
The MCA was reported missing after witnesses saw him being forcefully bundled into a vehicle by unknown assailants.
Following his forceful entry into the vehicle, witnesses also reported that the vehicle sped off heading towards Mombasa from Makindu.
He was later found at a hospital in Makindu, where he spoke to the media about his ordeal.
During his interview, Wambua claimed that the alleged police officers told him they were searching for people believed to be inciting anti-government protests in the country.

He also informed the media that he was released by his abductors after pleading with them.
Wiper Party Issues Statement Over the MCA’s Disappearance
Earlier, in a statement made on Monday June 8th, the Kalonzo Musyoka-led Wiper Party condemned the abduction, describing it as a severe violation of human rights.
The Party also equated it to arbitrary arrests and enforced disappearance.
“The Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) Party unequivocally condemns the abduction of Hon. Wambua, as a gross violation of human rights and equivalent to arbitrary arrests and enforced disappearance as prohibited under Article 29 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010,” said the party.
Additionally, the party demanded for Wambua’s immediate and unconditional release, as well as the release of all others who have been abducted.
“We demand that Hon. Wambua be released immediately and returned to his family in Makindu, Makueni County.
“We also demand that the government immediately end these illegal actions and release all others who have been arbitrarily arrested.”
Wiper Party’s Message to Inspector General Koome
Wiper Party had addressed Inspector General Japhet Koome reminding him of the constitutional obligation to respect and protect the rights to liberty and security.
“We remind you, Inspector General, that the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, ensures the right to liberty and security and forbids all forms of arbitrary arrest and detention.”

“All state officers, including the police, must preserve these rights and treat all citizens with dignity and respect.” said the party.
Additionally, the party noted that it would hold the Inspector General personally liable if any harm comes to MCA Wambua.
