A video clip has surfaced online showing a confrontation between a Chinese national and a man at a construction site.
In the footage, the Chinese man is seen holding the man by his shirt’s collar and roughing him up while other construction workers try to stop him.
A man behind the camera is heard asking the Chinese, who seemed to be their boss, to let go of the other worker.
However, the pleas fell on deaf ears as the Chinese continued to push the man to the edge of the building.
Another worker comes in to stop the now-aggressive Chinese, but he continues to push the man while holding him by the reflective jacket he was wearing.
After a while, the unidentified man begins hitting the Kenyan man, who he still holds by the vest, with a construction helmet.
It is not clear from the video whether the man sustained injuries or not but the two-minute video ends with the Chinese still pushing the construction worker at the edge of a tall building under construction.

Reactions From Kenyans
In response, Kenyans took to social media to condemn the Chinese man for assaulting the Kenyan man.
X user Christine Ndungu stated that the incident was unacceptable in Kenya while Farhiya Abass indicated that the Chinese ought to be deported as a lesson to others who mistreat Kenyans.
“This is totally unacceptable! We cannot tolerate this in our motherland Kenya!” said Christine.
“Chinese abusing a construction worker to this extent in Kenya. He should be deported immediately this is unacceptable let it be a lesson for others,” Farhiya Abass added.
At the same time, Abdulahi Adan regretted that Kenyans allowed foreigners, especially Chinese nationals to bully them when the country was alsoallowing them to reap economic benefits in the country.
“A Chinese Man assaulting a Kenyan worker to an extent of wanting to throw him off a tall building under construction. Why do we tolerate this bullying in our own country when Kenya is giving them an economic opportunity?” he questioned.

Murkomen Put on the Spot Over Chinese Only Tender
The incident puts the Chinese and the construction industry on the spot for the second time this year.
In February, the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) called for the immediate withdrawal of a tender invitation issued by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) that was set aside only for Chinese Nationals.
“The bidder and all other parties constituting the bidder shall have the nationality of The Republic of China.
“It is envisaged that the Contract Period will be for a duration of Seventy-Two (72) Months. Thirty (36) Months for Design and Build and 36 Months for operation and maintenance,” read the notice in part.
The association roped in Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and legality in procurement procedures.
