The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced changes in the application for the 4,000 internship vacancies announced on July 22, 2025.
In an update on July 25, PSC stated that the applications should be submitted by August 14th, not September 30th, as mentioned in the initial notice.
“The application deadline for the Internship Opportunities in the State Department for Housing and Urban Development has been changed to 14th August 2025,” PSC said.
PSC added that diploma and degree graduates are eligible to apply and should not miss the chance to kick off their careers.
The Commission clarified that graduates who have submitted their application should not reapply.
“If you have already submitted your application, you do not need to apply again. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build your career in housing and urban development,” the Commission said.
PSC invited applications from degree and diploma graduates across 41 professional disciplines.
Available Positions
These opportunities are open to graduates in areas including architecture, civil engineering, construction management, and electrical and mechanical engineering.
Other technical fields covered are structural engineering, quantity surveying, health and safety, and various inspector roles such as building, civil, electrical, gas/refrigeration, and plumbing and drainage inspectors.
Graduates in architectural assistance, landscape architecture, interior design, urban and regional planning, and land surveying or geo-spatial studies are also eligible.
As per PSC notice, graduates with expertise in communication and branding, environment, digital marketing, and social development are also encouraged to apply.

PSC is also targeting professionals in accounting, actuarial science, economics, financial analysis, data science and artificial intelligence, data analysis, and information and communication technology (ICT).
Other areas include human resource management, legal studies, gender and development studies, and supply chain management.
PSC Internship Requirements
Candidates interested in an internship opportunity must possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in one of the disciplines mentioned from a recognised university.
- Graduation not earlier than 2018.
- Proficiency in computer skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will carry out tasks assigned and agreed upon with their supervisors.
They are also expected to actively promote project sites across the country, take part in mentorship initiatives, and fulfil other responsibilities aligned with the programme’s objectives.
Additionally, they will record the skills they acquire during their deployment in the Affordable Housing Programme.
Duration, Stipend & Certificate
The internship lasts for twelve months and is non-renewable.
State Department for Housing and Urban Development will pay the interns a stipend at a rate set by the Government.
Besides, the interns will be awarded a certificate from the State Department for Housing and Urban Development after completion of the internship period.
