Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his statement on February 22, said that Russia launched massive attacks on Ukrainian communities and infrastructure despite calls for a diplomatic resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Zelenskyy, in a statement shared on X, confirmed that Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine with more than 1,400 guided aerial bombs and drones in a single week.
He stated that within the same period, Russia launched over 1,300 attack drones and 96 missiles of various types, including dozens of ballistic missiles.
“Moscow continues to invest in strikes more than in diplomacy. This week alone, Russia launched more than 1,300 attack drones against Ukraine, over 1,400 guided aerial bombs, and 96 missiles of various types, including dozens of ballistic ones,” he said.

“Nearly 300 attack drones, most of them “shaheds,” and 50 missiles of various types, a significant share of them ballistic, were launched against Ukraine,” he said.

Zelenskyy Accuses Trump of Discussing Secret NATO Deal With Putin
Earlier in the week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused the US President Donald Trump of engaging in discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin over a potential secret deal.
In a statement shared on his X account on February 19, Zelenskyy said he was aware that “Americans and some Europeans are negotiating a document between NATO and Russia”.
“I know that Americans, and maybe some Europeans, are discussing a new document with Russia, between NATO and Russia,” he said in part of his post.

Zelenskyy emphasised that Ukraine’s potential membership in NATO should be discussed directly with Kyiv, not only with Russia.
The Ukrainian President acknowledged that talks might proceed without Ukraine’s involvement. Additionally, he noted that Ukraine would respond to any unexpected developments.
“But for me, it’s important that they discuss our potential place in NATO with us. Not just with the Russians – with us. Because it’s about us. Because it’s about us. But they might also do it without us. Maybe we don’t know something. In any case, we will react to surprises if they happen,” Zelenskyy noted.
