A survey by TIFA Research company has revealed the five main challenges facing the Kenya Kwanza government led by President William Ruto.
The Omnibus Survey published on Wednesday, December 13 covers President Ruto’s performance as the year 2023 comes to an end.
According to the report, the greatest challenge facing the Kenya Kwanza government is cost of living which stands at 35%.
“Given the fact that reducing the cost-of-living was such a major part of Kenya Kwanza’s successful 2022 election campaign, its continued rise helps to explain why more Kenyans cited it as the main challenge the Government currently faces,” reads the report in parts.
Other Challenges
Besides, 42% of government allies mentioned inflation as a challenge as opposed to 39% aligned to the opposition.
Additionally, corruption stood at 15% followed by debt repayment as the third challenge at 8%.
“Three times as many governments as opposition supporters cite the burden of debt repayment, especially since Kenya Kwanza leaders have continued to blame this challenge on the previous government (which sought to ensure that an Odinga-led government would succeed it),” added the report.
