President William Ruto has made a series of government changes. Through Gazette notices, he announced the reappointment of Faith Boinett as chairperson of the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Limited and the removal of several names from the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (C.B.S.) honours list.
President Ruto has reappointed Faith Boinett as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Kenya Pipeline for a further three-year term under the State Corporations Act (Cap. 446). The reappointment is effective December 23, 2025.
Boinett was first appointed to the position on December 23, 2022, replacing Rita Okuthe, as part of broader leadership changes in state agencies following the August 2022 General Election.
She is a lawyer by profession with over 20 years’ experience spanning both the public and private sectors, with expertise in legal risk and compliance, governance, public financial management, human resources, and public sector strategic partnerships.
The KPC Board Chair is the Managing Partner at Boinett & Bett Company Advocates and currently chairs the boards of the Kenya Pipeline Company and the Board Finance and General Purposes Committee of Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation and the Privatisation Commission.
Boinett is also a member of FIDA Kenya and has been recognised for her advocacy for women’s and children’s rights.
Names removed from C.B.S honours list
In a separate Gazette notice, President Ruto issued a corrigendum to Gazette notice No. 1836 of 2025, which had earlier listed recipients of national honours conferred during the Jamhuri Day celebrations held on December 12, 2025.

The corrigendum states that, for the general information of the public, some names were erroneously included under the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (C.B.S.) and have now been deleted.
“IN Gazette Notice No. 1836 of 2025, relating to the conferment of National Honours and Awards and as published under the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (C.B.S.) list, it is notified for the general information of the public that the following names were erroneously included in the list.”
The individuals removed from the C.B.S. list include Joyce Njeri, Sylvester Ngei, Harrison Ochieng, Kirui Kipkemoi, and Peter Kipsang. Zakayo Izanta, Allan Mukoto, Vane Nyaboke, Philip Brikstone (posthumous), and Millicent Anyango have also been named.
“The names are deleted from the C.B.S. list, and any reference to them therein should be read as follows,” the notice adds.
Jamhuri Day national honours
The corrections follow the publication of a Special Gazette notice dated December 11, 2025, in which President Ruto conferred national awards and honours on a wide range of Kenyans in recognition of exceptional service across military, civil, political, judicial, religious, and professional sectors.
The honours included the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya, the Order of the Burning Spear, the Order of the Grand Warrior (O.G.W.), the Silver Star (S.S.) of Kenya, the Distinguished Service Medal (D.S.M.), and the Head of State’s Commendation (H.S.C.).
Among those awarded the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (E.G.H.), one of the country’s highest civilian honours, was Dr. Pratt Kristina Kenyatta and Attorney General Dorcas Oduor.

Others honoured included Environment Cabinet Secretary Deborah Barasa, Trade CS Lee Kinyanjui, ICT CS William Kabogo, Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu, and Dr. Jaffer Mohamed Husein.
Recipients under the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (C.B.S.) category included Most Rev. Zacchaeus Okoth, Mrs. Mary Wanyonyi Chebukati, widow of the late former IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati, and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo, among others.
New appointment at Kenyatta University
Meanwhile, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has made a fresh appointment at Kenyatta University.
In a Gazette notice dated December 19, 2025, issued under the Universities Act (Cap. 210), the CS appointed Prof. Clara Samiji Momanyi as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenyatta University Council for a period of three years, effective immediately.
The appointment revokes Dr. Ben Chumo’s previous appointment to the position.
