Two Senior prison police officers, Inspector Patrick Mukunyi Kuya and Senior Sergent Daniel Nairimo, were attacked and killed while visiting an old friend in Narok county.
According to officers from the prison’s department, the two left Nairobi for Kilgoris on Wednesday, March 13, to solve a Sacco dispute that involved a retired colleague who had reportedly defaulted on a loan and moved back to the countryside.
However, when they arrived at the home of the colleague, Pius Lemiso Ndiwa, his sons attacked them.
Pius is reported to have warned his sons that the two men in their compound were thugs.

Attack on the Senior Officers
According to the police, the family of the former soldier started screaming and the sons attacked the two officers with arrows and machetes.
Additionally, police detailed that one of the officers was attacked using arrows, noting that three arrows pierced through his body.
On the other hand, the other officer was subjected to beatings and several parts of his body were cut using machetes.
“One of the men was shot using arrows and three arrows had lodged in his body. He had other injuries as well. The other man was subjected to beatings and several parts of his body were cut using weapons,” said the police.

Arrest of the Suspects
When the sons of Pius sensed that they were in trouble, they attempted to escape but were caught before they managed to.
“The two men sensing fear. They attempted to escape but they were caught just next to the compound on the small earth road, and they were subjected to beatings,” added the police.
Subsequently, Pius went into hiding even though his wife said that he was not at home when the incident happened.
Officers have launched investigations into the matter and are in search of the retired soldier to get further information on what transpired.
Four suspects have since been arrested in connection to the case.
