U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the signing of a bill directing the release of previously withheld documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, the financier and convicted sex offender.
In a statement on his Truth Social account, Trump said the files include tens of thousands of pages that will reveal connections between Epstein and prominent Democratic figures.
“The Department of Justice has already turned over close to fifty thousand pages of documents to Congress,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, emphasising the scale of the materials now available for review.
Trump also criticised the Biden administration for not releasing the records.
“The Biden Administration did not turn over a single file or page related to Democrat Epstein, nor did they ever even speak about him,” he stated.
Trump on Alleged Democrat Connections
According to Trump’s statement, Epstein had longstanding associations with multiple Democratic politicians.

He mentioned former President Bill Clinton, claiming that Clinton “traveled on his plane 26 times.”
He also named former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, political activist Reid Hoffman, Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett, and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, claiming that Jeffries requested Epstein to donate to his campaign after Epstein had been charged.
“Perhaps the truth about these Democrats, and their associations with Jeffrey Epstein, will soon be revealed,” he wrote, framing the release of the files as a step toward transparency.
Political Context
Trump further contextualized the release politically.
“Democrats have used the Epstein issue, which affects them far more than the Republican Party, in order to try and distract from our amazing victories,” he wrote, citing achievements such as the tax cut bill, border security measures, regulatory reforms, and other initiatives of his administration.

The U.S. President also characterised prior investigations as politically motivated.
“For years our great nation has had to endure Russia Russia Russia, Ukraine Ukraine Ukraine, impeachment hoax #1, impeachment hoax #2, and many other Democrat-created witch hunts and scams,” Trump stated, framing the release as part of a broader effort to counter these actions.
Additionally, he noted that the bill passed with near-unanimous support in Congress.
“I asked Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune to pass this bill in the House and Senate, respectively. Because of this request, the votes were almost unanimous in favour of passage,” he said.
According to his statement, the legislative action continues his focus on accountability.
“This latest hoax will backfire on the Democrats just as all of the rest have,” he wrote, ending his statement with a call to highlight Republican achievements and transparency.
