Several protesters have been shot outside Parliament buildings during the anti-Finance Bill protests in Nairobi.
CNN Correspondent Larry Madowo reported that two bodies are lying on the ground after police started using live bullets on protesters who tried accessing Parliament buildings.
The shooting came after the protesters overwhelmed the police officers and made it to Parliament.
Amnesty International Kenya said hundreds of protesters broke through police barriers outside parliament with police firing live rounds leaving several others injured.
The Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) confirmed on Tuesday, June 25 that police shot 4 protesters killing one in the process.
“Police have shot four protesters, as witnessed by KHRC, killing one. We strongly condemn the police killing. Such actions are unacceptable and constitute a grave violation of human rights. Justice and accountability are imperative. We will vigorously push for police accountability,” reads part of a statement by KHRC.
As of 3:07pm, KTN News reported that three protesters had confirmed dead while three others were injured.
However, St. Johns Ambulance reported that eight people have already been confirmed dead after the shootings outside Parliament.
Even after several shootings, the protesters overpowered the police officers and accessed the Parliament buildings.
In videos by KTN by local media houses, the protesters are seen entering Parliament despite the use of tear gas and force by the police to try to block them.

There were multiple gunshots after the protesters managed to enter Parliament compounds.
Parliament staff were also seen running for safety after the protesters pulled down the national flag.
A section of parliament that houses offices was also set on fire as protesters stormed the buildings, accompanied by heavy gunfire from police officers battling the defiant mob.

MPs Evacuated Afte Voting for Finance Bill
The Members of Parliament (MPs) were evacuated while others have used the underground tunnel to relocate to Bunge towers.
Live footages from Parliament showed huge destruction of properties after the protesters overpowered the police and accessed the premises.
Besides, the protesters tried accessing the Senate chambers, but they could not break in.
The demonstrators also burned vehicles belonging to the police as tensions intensified out Parliament buildings.
Latest reports indicate, a section of City Hall, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s office is up on flames.
