President Donald Trump, through the US Embassy, has begun organizing evacuation efforts for its citizens in Israel amid escalating tensions in the region.
This move comes as a response to the growing security concerns following Israel’s ongoing conflict with Iran.
Americans in Israel are being advised to register with the embassy and prepare for possible departure.
Earlier, the U.S. Embassy in Israel issued a heightened security alert and suspended operations through Friday, June 20.
Further, it directed all U.S. government employees and their families to remain sheltered in place.
Operations at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, including consular services in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, have been suspended.
In addition, no passport services or consular reports of birth abroad will be provided during this period.
“The security environment remains complex and can change rapidly,” the embassy noted, urging U.S. citizens to maintain caution, be aware of their surroundings, and stay informed through official updates.

Trump Cancels US Flights
In an earlier communication, the embassy noted that commercial flight operations at Ben Gurion Airport are halted, and seaports remain closed.
However, land border crossings to Jordan and Egypt remain operational with limited hours and restrictions.
The embassy also provided guidance for U.S. citizens seeking to exit the country:
Jordan Crossings (June 18):
Allenby/King Hussein Bridge: 08:00 – 14:30 (E-visa required)
Northern Crossing (Jordan River/Sheikh Hussein): 08:30 – 14:30 (Visa on arrival)
Southern Crossing (Yitzhak Rabin/Wadi Araba): 08:00 – 20:00 (Visa on arrival)
Egypt Crossing (Taba):
Open 24 hours.
U.S. citizens must have at least six months’ passport validity, $25 in cash for visa on arrival, and 700 EGP for Sinai tax.
From Taba, it is a four-hour drive to Sharm el Sheikh where international flights are available.
The embassy highlighted the importance of enrolling in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive real-time updates and advisories.
Citizens were also advised to download the Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command app for immediate security alerts, including red alerts for missile or UAV attacks.
