Truth Behind Uhuru Kenyatta Having Freemason Tattoo and Logo

A viral image circulating on social media platform X has caused a stir, showing former President Uhuru Kenyatta allegedly wearing a shirt with a Freemason logo and a tattoo on his arm.

The image, first shared by X user @Tevin-IsOmondi with the caption, “It’s a big club, and you are not in it… Do you see it? If you know, you know,” quickly gained traction.

It was later reposted by Jimmy Kafangi, who captioned it, “Uhuru (Jayden) Kenyatta ako hadi na tattoo.”

However, a reverse search conducted by The Kenya Times revealed that the image was fake.

A reverse image search confirms that the photo has been digitally altered.

Image of Uhuru Kenyatta with a Free Mason Tattoo is Fake

A closer analysis of the image shows several inconsistencies. Firstly, the logo on the shirt appears to “float” unnaturally, failing to follow the contours of the shirt’s fabric and creases. This is a telltale sign of poor image editing.

Secondly, the alleged tattoo on Kenyatta’s arm seems to overlap with the shirt, an impossibility in a genuine photograph. This further points to the image being manipulated through photo editing software.

Another striking detail is the hem of the shirt on either side of his arm. The hem appears mismatched and disjointed.

Further investigation uncovered the original source of the photo. The Kenya Times established that the image was taken in February 2023, during an event where the 4th President wore the same shirt.

The former resident Uhuru Kenyatta was in Nigeria as a lead observer under the African Union Election Observers Mission.

The original photo confirms that the shirt does not bear any logo, nor does it reveal any tattoos on Kenyatta’s arm.

Some Kenyans were quick to notice the discrepancies, with many pointing out that the image had been photoshopped and debunking the post.

“So, you photoshop images on someone’s shirt and skin just for engagements and ruin his name. Shame on you man. Uhuru made mistakes and tried so hard to rectify them but y’all the same clowns who never listened to him,” Rock Clavin said.

Law on Publication of False Information

Publishing false information online has become one of the most common cybercrimes. Social media platforms, blogs, and online forums are filled with news, opinions, and content—some of which are misleading or outright false.

Many social media users have recently found themselves facing legal action due to the spread of false information.

A person who intentionally publishes false, misleading, or fictitious data or misinforms with the intent that the data be considered or acted upon as authentic—whether for financial gain or not—commits an offence.

This means that publishing misleading or false information online, even without any monetary benefit, can lead to serious legal consequences.

The said person shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding five million shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or to both.
