The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has dismissed as fake a recruitment notice circulating online claiming that the commission is recruiting 12,632 teachers for primary, junior secondary, and senior schools.
According to the commission, the job vacancy circulating on social media platforms claims that TSC is conducting a replacement recruitment exercise for teachers who exited service.
Additionally, the advertisement notice indicated vacancies, including 8,400 positions in primary schools, 32 academic posts, and 4,200 slots in senior schools.
The notice further directs applicants to submit their applications through the TSC website, setting the application deadline for the 12,632 vacancies on July 20, 2026.
However, the commission has flagged the advert as fake, clarifying that it had not issued any directives on the replacement of teachers who exited service in primary, junior, and secondary schools, and warned job seekers against relying on the information in the document.
“Please be aware that the circulating information on replacement of teachers who exited service in primary, junior and secondary school is fake,” TSC clarified on the circulating job vacancies advertisement on June 30.

Fake Notice on TSC Advert
According to the commission, the debunked fraudulent notice closely resembles government recruitment advertisements.
Further, the notice carries TSC and government branding and outlines qualifications, eligibility criteria, and application procedures, as is common in official recruitment notices.
According to the advert, interested applicants were required to be Kenyan citizens, possess the required teaching qualifications, and be registered with the Teachers Service Commission.

Further, the commission has cautioned against submitting personal information or engaging with individuals claiming to facilitate recruitment outside official procedures.
Members of the public are further advised by the commission to report fraudulent activities to the nearest TSC office or the Teachers Service Commission headquarters.
Additionally, the reports can be submitted via email to the Commission at [email protected] or [email protected].
