Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged Kenyans to stop misusing former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
According to reports, Uhuru criticized Kenyans for asking the opposition leader to defend them during harsh economic times but attack him when he calls for protests.
“It is very interesting that people keep saying demonstrations are bad for business are being closed down due to bad policies, they still want to be defended by Raila. It’s wrong to misuse someone,” Uhuru is quoted by The Standard.
Further, the retired president revealed that he had been receiving calls from friends that businesses, most of which belong to Mt. Kenya residents are closing down.
Besides, the fourth president explained that time has justified why he supported Raila in the 2022 presidential elections.
I Don’t Regret My Decision
Notably, the Jubilee Party leader said he does regret supporting Raila and Martha Karua in last year’s polls.
“Always stand for the truth. I stood for the truth and opted for Raila because I knew him,” he said.
Additionally, he argued that politicians should provide leadership instead of following the political wave.

Also, the asked elected leaders to stand with the citizens against the government ‘s policies which are hurting the people.
Furthermore, he mentioned that he was proud of the projects he initiated during his ten years as the head of state.
He challenged the leaders to come clean and tell the citizens the truth on the status of the Jubilee government projects.
The former president was addressing Mt. Kenya leaders who visited Raila on Monday December 11, 2023.
Mutahi Ngunyi Attacks Uhuru
Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi hit out at his former boss arguing that he was wasting Raila’s time.
According to Ngunyi, Uhuru failed to help Raila secure the presidential seat in the 2022 general elections and would not help him secure any other political seat.

“Uhuru is keeping Raila busy, taking him nowhere. If he could not make him President in 2022, what will he make him now? This is a trap.
“And if I am wrong, I do not choose to be right,” Ngunyi stated.
In addition, Ngunyi advised Raila to focus on his party ODM and leave the Azimio coalition which he opined was already nonfunctional.
