Former President Uhuru Kenyatta surprised Jesus Compassion Ministry Church in Ruiru, Kiambu County with Ksh1 million as a Christmas gift.
According to the president, the cash should go towards the church’s Christmas party support those struggling amid the tough economic situation.
While not physically present at the church, Kenyatta surprised the congregation with a phone call broadcasted through the loudspeaker by the pastor Ben Watoria.
Speaking to the congregants he praised pastor Watoria’s efforts in meeting the needs of the less fortunate in the society.
“Your pastor has called me and has informed, me that you had a Christmas event that was meant for the people who are not able to support themselves during this Christmas period,” the former president said.

“I told him I could not abandon our people and whatever he is doing, I will top him up. I have told him I will give Ksh1 million so that he can buy unga for more people,” Kenyatta said.

He expressed his desire to support the church’s initiative, praising their efforts in standing with those in need.
Further, wishing them blessings, Uhuru promised to visit the church in the coming days for prayers.
“May you be blessed with your families, and we will you someday for prayers,” he concluded.

Similarly, the JCM Church since its inception has had a culture of supporting the needy congregants.
Notably, on Sunday November 25, Reverend Ben left his congregants elated after he gifted 1,000 smokie trolleys, eggs and smokies to church members struggling with no jobs.
While addressing the church, the pastor noted that the move was meant to empower church members to start their own businesses and earn a living.
