The United States Embassy in Nairobi has issued a demonstration alert to U.S. citizens in Kenya, urging them to exercise caution due to ongoing calls for protests on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In a statement issued on July 15, the Embassy warned of potential violent episodes during these demonstrations, especially in central business districts and on major towns, where road blockages and police checkpoints are expected.
The Embassy’s alert emphasizes that even seemingly peaceful protests can quickly escalate into violent confrontations.
U.S. citizens are urged to take several precautionary measures to ensure their safety and security while in Kenya.
