Wetangula blasts Raila for denying his brother Wanyonyi ODM ticket

ODM leader Raila Odinga has been vehemently criticized by Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula for asking Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi to forgo his bid for the Nairobi governor seat.

Wetangula and Wanyonyi are siblings.

Speaking on Tuesday while issuing nomination certificates to his party members, Wetangula chided Raila for denying MP Wanyonyi a ticket he deserved.

“The most popular candidate to become the next governor of Nairobi is Tim Wanyonyi, the MP of this area. Amemnyangany kwa nguvu like robber, na akampatia mtu mwingine. And Tim is leaving with a disability,” Wetangula said.

The Bungoma senator went on to say that the move is an indicator that the ODM leader does not mean good for Kenyans.

“Kama unaweza kunyanga mtu anayeishi na ulemavu, utamfanyiaje yule anayetembea?”

Loosely translates to: If you can steal from someone who is living with a disability, what will you do to people without disability?

He added: “It’s a very wicked act.  Raila, God will punish you”.

He said that the Luhya community will not forgive him for blocking Wanyonyi’s dream of becoming Nairobi governor.

Wetangula also accused COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli and Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa for not standing with Wanyonyi.
