A woman has died after falling from the 10th floor of an apartment in Nairobi’s Kasarani area.
The yet-to-be-identified woman is reported to have been pushed from the building on Saturday, March 2, morning.
The establishment known as T, Home White House Apartment, is both a residential and Airbnb building located in Thome near Safari Brooks Academy.
However, it is not yet clear whether the woman fell from an Airbnb or a residential house. Neighbours reported that they heard a scuffle early in the morning before the woman fell.
Pictures circulated online of the scene showed residents of the area gathered at the gate of the apartment causing commotion at the establishment.

Police Officers at the Scene After Woman Falls
Police officers were called to the scene after the residents discovered the body of the woman. When they arrived, they secured the scene restricting the public from entering the compound.
Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have taken over the case and begun investigations into the incident.
The identity of the woman had not been revealed by the authorities by the time this article was published.

The incident occurred amidst concerns over rising cases of femicides in the country.
As a result of several reported cases in January 2024, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin established a special team tasked with investigating and closing femicide cases in the country.
The team, according to a statement by DCI include criminal intelligence analysts and forensic experts.
“These killings have cast a dark shadow over our safety and security endeavours; we must put this menace to end with remarkable speed and finality,” Amin stated.

Kenyan Women March Against Femicide
Earlier on Saturday, January 27, Kenyans took to the streets in various cities and towns across the country for an anti-femicide march.
The protestors were joined by politicians and various stakeholders to condemn the rise in reported cases of women being killed brutally in the country.
This followed an alarming increase in reports of the killings of young women in Airbnbs in Roysambu and South B areas in Nairobi and other parts of the country.
At the same time, DCI made an appeal to members of the public to help bring perpetrators to book by volunteering any information on femicide cases.
