Police in Embu are looking for a General Service Unit (GSU) officer who defiled a 4-year-old girl.
According to police, The officer went underground after defiling the girl on Tuesday, July 23, 2022, in Kithumu Embu West Sub-County.
Consequently, the Officer has been identified as John Kivuti Njagi who serves at the GSU headquarters.
Njagi is also a medalist boxer.
The victim who is currently admitted at Embu Level Five hospital in a serious condition
Police are urging members of the public and fellow officers to volunteer information that can lead to his arrest.
According to a police report, the GSU Commandant is assisting in tracing the whereabouts of the suspect.
Under the Sexual Offences Act, a person who commits an offence of defilement with a child aged 11 years or less is liable to imprisonment for life.
However, if the victim is 12 to 15 years, the suspect is liable to a jail term of not less than 20 years, upon conviction.
Elsewhere, early this week police arrested a male teacher in Bomet County for allegedly sodomizing three pupils.
Police say the minors are 11 and 13 years.
The arrest of Bernard Kirui came after one of the victims complained of severe pain.
The victim received treatment at Litein Mission Hospital with doctors confirming the allegations of sodomy.
