Homa Bay county police arrested a 23-year-old woman for allegedly burning her son’s hand.
It is alleged that she burnt her son for stealing cooked food from the neighbor’s house at Shauri-Yako estate within Homa-Bay town constituency.
According to police report, the woman tied her son’s hands using a string from a nylon sack before setting it ablaze on his hands after she received the information that her son allegedly broke into the neighbor’s house and ate fried liver.
Moreover, the boy who was playing with his three siblings is said to have allegedly sneaked into the neighbor’s house and stole the food.
The neighbor’s child spotted him and reported him.

Furthermore, Homa-Bay township assistant chief Salim Nyauke noted that the child was rescued from her mother by neighbors who responded to screams from the boy as his hands were set on fire.
He further added that the boy was rushed to Homa-Bay County Referral Hospital where he is nursing serious burns on his fingers.
Mr. Nyauke also noted that the woman will be arraigned for assault upon conclusion of investigations.
