Who is Jonathan Mulungi?
The young doctor was born and raised in the Luweero district, in Uganda. His dream since childhood has always been to become a doctor.
While growing up, Jonathan had an ambition to save lives and treat the sick. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he sacrificed his holiday to volunteer at the hospital in order to treat patients in the hospital unit for two months.

Career Experience
Dr Jonathan Mulungi is a Medical Doctor (MBChB) at Mbarara RRH with a great key interest in emergency medicine and research.
At the same time, he has a keen interest in Cardiothoracic surgery, Epidemiology, and Infectious Diseases.
Further, he has worked with Numerous NGOs in the Medical field, championing Universal Health.
He has published scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented several scientific works at international conferences across Africa.
Recently, he has presented his published work at the Annual International COSECSA Scientific Conference in Windhoek, Namibia@COSECSA.
Moreover, he has participated in the first Cohort of the One Health (AFROHUN) project at MUST in partnership with Makerere University, USAID, and Tufts University, Equal Health Scholar.

Education Background
Mulungi attended King’s College in Wakiso District for his secondary school.
From 2017 to 2022, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery at Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
In 2022, he attended the College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa (COSECSA) as a trainee.
