Sam Gituku, is a familiar TV journalist, known for his outstanding ability to break down complex topics and numbers in a way that is easily digestible to the audience.
Unknown to many Kenyans, Gituku joined the media industry in 2012. He landed his first job at Royal Media Services as a radio Correspondent for Radio Citizen.
At the time, the now seasoned journalist was based somewhere in the remote parts of Machakos.
Out of sheer hard work and career development, Gituku later shot to the screens as a current affairs reporter for Citizen TV, honing his skills and mastering the art of journalism.
Eleven years inside the game, Gituku who is also bilingual, has covered some notable news events.
He was a lead reporter in Kenya’s General Election of 2017, covering the electoral management by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission – IEBC, the presidential election results tallying, and declaration.

He later covered the hearing and determination of the Presidential Election petition at the Supreme Court, which resulted in the nullification of the election.
In April 201hen 5, Gituku was the frontline reporter when terrorists attacked Garissa University.
In addition, he covered the US Presidential election from Washington DC in 2016, pitting Republican Donald Trump against Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Moreover, Sam Gituku is part of Citizen TV’s lineup of seasons journalists, including RMS Editorial Director Linus Kaikai, Managing Editor (Swahili) Jamila Mohamed and Yvonne Okwara, an anchor and editor.
Gituku holds a bachelor’s degree in information science from Moi University and a master’s degree in communication studies from the University of Nairobi.
In addition, he is a Certified Public Accountant CPA-K. Currently, he is pursuing an Executive master’s in media leadership and Innovation (EMMLI) at the Aga Khan University.
