Member of County Assembly (MCA) of Abogeta West Meru and Minority Party Chief Whip, Dennis Kiogora proposed to his girlfriend next to The Taj Mahal in India on 25th December.
According to the young legislator, his girlfriend responded in the affirmative, leading to a joyful post sherd by the MCA on his official Facebook page.
In the post celebrating the union, Denis Kiogora noted that this proposal marked the best Christmas of his life.
“She said YES and gave me the best Christmas of my life!” an excited Denis posted, accompanying the heartfelt words with pictures of himself on one knee in front of his girlfriend, now fiancée.
Further, Denis responded to questions why he had chosen to celebrate his holiday in India.
“Many have been asking why we are going for holiday in India (Kenyans are majorly known for going to India for treatment) and this was why!” he stated.
Meru MCA Explains Significance of Proposal Location
Additionally, he pointed out the significance of the location of his proposal, noting that it was in front of the Taj Mahal.

According to the MCA, this location is a symbol of eternal love basing on the history behind its construction.
“THE TAJ MAHAL! An enduring symbol of Eternal Love that was built 400 years ago by Shah Jahan, in loving memory to his wife Muhtaza Mahal who died giving birth to their child,” Denis Kiogora noted.
Notably, the Taj Mahal is listed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a world heritage center, due to its beauty and rich romantic history.
The story of Taj Mahal spans years and is an immense mausoleum of white marble, built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 by order of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.
This was in memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
Likewise, the Taj Mahal is considered to be the greatest architectural achievement in the whole range of Indo-Islamic architecture.
Also, the building is the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world’s heritage.
“India is very beautiful and we like visiting places that are not popular with many people. Ká Tö, with you, I found my missing rib!
We will build our monument for age,” Denis concluded his heartwarming post, referencing his love with his fiancée and comparing it with the Taj Mahal monument.

Kenyans Congratulate Denis Kiogora on the Proposal
Nevertheless, Kenyan netizens filled his comments section with congratulatory messages, wishing the couple a happy life ahead.
