Google has opened applications for its 2026 Student Researcher Program, an initiative designed to foster academic collaborations by hiring students for research projects.
The program is designed to foster academic collaboration and innovation by connecting students with Google’s world-class research teams across Europe and Africa.
It offers placements across Google’s global research, engineering, and science teams, giving students the chance to engage in exploratory projects that drive scientific innovation.
Google Opens Applications for 2026 Student Research Program
“As a Student Researcher, you will have the opportunity to participate in research projects focused on developing solutions for real-world, large-scale problems,” Google said in a statement.
Successful applicants will be placed in any of Google’s international offices, including Nairobi (Kenya), Accra (Ghana), Zürich (Switzerland), Berlin (Germany), Munich (Germany), Grenoble (France), Paris (France), and London (UK).
The opportunity is open to students pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degrees.
The duration and location of each project will depend on team and student needs, with participants required to remain in their assigned location for the entire engagement period.
When applying, students will be considered for roles across Google’s research divisions, including Google DeepMind, Google Research, and Google Cloud, allowing recruiters to match projects with each applicant’s skills and interests.
