NTV Replaces Olive Burrows After She Joined Citizen TV

NTV has welcomed a new anchor coming in as a replacement for Olive Burrows who exited the media house in May 2024.

The journalist, Michelle Ngele Odhiambo, has quietly left her previous station and joined NTV.  She made the announcement through her social media pages, reflecting on the wonderful time she has had in her career. 

Ngele is a news anchor with vast experience under her sleeves, working for different mainstream media across the country.

Before NTV, she worked as a TV anchor and host at KTN and K24 TV.

While in these stations, she was tasked with editing and anchoring current affairs news bulletins, as well as conducting interviews with news makers.

She has celebrated KTN for becoming her family and helping her launch and shape her career.

“Reflecting on a Journey Nine years ago, I embarked on an incredible journey at KTN News, Kenya’s first 24-hour news channel. As we bid farewell to a station that shaped my career and passion for journalism, my heart is filled with gratitude.

Thank you, KTN News, for shaping who I am today. Though the screen goes dark, the impact will last forever,” she said.

Details of Her Career and Education

Before joining K24 TV, Ngele was a news anchor at KTN news for six years until 2021 November.

She joined KTN News’ high powered News team in 2015 after emerging victorious in the Station’s competition show The Presenter alongside Jamal Gaddafi, working there until May 2021.

Aside from her mainstream duties, Ngele served as the communications and marketing director at Kilimo Yetu between 2013 and 2023. 

She now joins various seasoned colleagues in the industry. 

Furthermore, the journalist is a graduate of the United States International University (USIU), where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy. She graduated from the institution in 2015.

Olive Burrows Leaving NTV

Olive Burrows left the station in May after joining the Nation Media Group in 2018 when she worked at Capital FM as a radio presenter. She rose through the ranks and worked her way up to become an associate editor.

She then joined Capital FM in 2012.

Later, she left Capital FM for NTV to replace Victoria Rubadiri, who had quit the station earlier on. At NTV, she co-anchored news with Dennis Okari, a duo that became the talk of town after they made their debut as a team on the television screen.

While at the Nation Media Group-owned tv station, Burrows presented the prime-time news bulletin and also hosted a morning show dubbed the AM Live.

She left the station to replace Victoria Rubadiri at Citizen Tv, who had left for CNN.
