NTV news anchor OIive Burrows became the first Kenyan journalist to interview former US President Barack Obama during his visit to Kenya in 2015.
At the time, she was working as a Radio presenter for Capital FM.
Burrows began her career as a freelance magazine writer while studying at Daystar University, contributing to various publications such as Destination Magazine, True Love, and EAM.
From September 2007 to December same year, she joined the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) as an intern and worked as a contributor for the Nation Media Group (NMG) from October 2007 to April 2009.
Olive Burrows Professional Journey
Burrows later joined Capital FM news desk in 2012 as a reporter where she rose through the ranks to associate editor.
Olive went on to work in the media house for almost six years until May 2018 when she left Capital FM for NTV to replace Victoria Rubadiri, who had quit the station earlier on.

While explaining her exit, Burrows noted that she transitioned from Radio to Television because she felt it was not much of a stretch.
“It’s like you are on auto pilot. You just do it, and you can do it with your one hand tied at the back. I wanted to prove to myself that I can do it,” she said in a past interview.
At NTV, she co-anchored news with Dennis Okari, a duo that became the talk of town after they made their debut as a team on the television screen.
In her recent role at the Nation Media Group-owned tv station, Burrows presents the prime-time news bulletin and also hosts a morning show dubbed the AM Live.
Prominent Figures Olive Interviewed
Apart from interviewing former US president Barrack Obama, Olive Burrows commitment to asking the hard questions allowed her to also interview Melinda Gates (the wife of former US president Bill Gates).

Olive is the only child of her late Kenyan mother and mixed British and Tanzanian descent father. She grew up in Nairobi West and attended Malezi Primary School in Lang’ata, before joining Kenya High School and later Daystar University.
