Errol Musk, Elon Musk’s father, has continued to raise questions after confirming that he will attend a pro-Kremlin event in Russia hosted by far-right ideologue Alexander Dugin.
The pro-Kremlin event hosted by the Tsargrad Institute from June 9-10, 2025, in Moscow has sparked controversy due to its timing amid Russia-Ukraine tensions.
The Forum of the Future 2050 is a platform known for promoting conservative, nationalist, and Kremlin-friendly narratives.
Alexander Dugin, a central figure in Russia’s far-right movement, leads the forum, with his ideology rooted in Eurasianism and opposition to Western liberal democracy.

This is well detailed in his 1997 book Foundations of Geopolitics, which has influenced Russian military strategy.
Errol Musk is set to speak at the Forum of the Future 2050 in Moscow, Russia, with sessions like “Russian Space: The Race for Mars” and “The Battle for Hearts and Minds: The Ideology of Sovereign Russia.”
Errol Musk has expressed admiration for Russians, saying, “I am eager to meet everyone. As far as I know, Russians are among the most intelligent people on the planet. It would be foolish not to ask their opinion on all sorts of issues.”
Errol’s participation has raised questions given Elon’s own controversial statements aligning with Kremlin narratives on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Errol’s praise for Putin and attendance at a far-right, pro-Kremlin forum led by Alexander Dugin, known for influencing Russian military strategy, adds complexity to perceptions of Western figures engaging with Russian interests.
Scheduled speakers include Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, oligarch Konstantin Malofeev, who is closely tied to the Russian Orthodox Church and a main sponsor of the event, and prominent state TV anchor Ekaterina Andreeva.
Errol Musk, a former South African businessman and politician, is listed as a speaker.
Additionally, he has previously expressed admiration for Vladimir Putin, calling him a “strong leader” in an April 2025 interview with BBC Russia, stating, “It would be foolish not to admire Putin.”
The timing of Errol Musk’s attendance is significant, occurring amid escalating Russia-Ukraine tensions. On June 5, 2025, a Ukrainian drone attacked Russian warplanes in Siberia.

The forum, led by Dugin, aligns with Kremlin efforts to promote nationalist and anti-Western ideologies, especially as Russia faces international isolation due to its actions in Ukraine.
Musk has increasingly echoed Kremlin-aligned views, such as criticising U.S. aid to Ukraine as a “never-ending draft meat grinder” and suggesting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky lacks public support.
These remarks have been praised by Russian officials and state media, adding complexity to the perception of the Musk family’s geopolitical leanings.
