Fackson Kagwe is a Kenyan advocate and former chairman of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).
He is widely recognized for his distinguished legal career and significant contributions to the Kenyan legal profession.
In July 2020, Kagwe was formally conferred with the rank and dignity of Senior Counsel by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, a mark of sustained excellence and distinguished service in the legal field.

Early Life and Educational Background
At the age of 10 years, Kagwe’s mother died during childbirth, at which point he began co-raising his siblings with his grandfather.

Before focusing exclusively on private practice, he held senior public administrative roles, serving as the Town Clerk of Thika and as an Assistant Town Clerk of Nairobi.

Fackson is highly regarded as one of Kenya’s most respected experts in conveyancing law, the legal transfer of property, noted for maintaining rigorous ethical standards in such a complex field.
He has been a vocal critic of declining professional standards, famously calling for legal reforms and the vetting of lawyers to protect the public from unethical practices.
Conferment of Senior Counsel (SC)- This is an achievement he made in July 2020, when he was formally elevated to the rank of Senior Counsel, recognizing over 15 years of exemplary service and mastery of the law.
The lawyer’s life and career are the subject of the biography ‘A Lawyer for Our Times,’ which was launched in 2015 at the Consolata Shrine, along Waiyaki Way in Nairobi, which is frequently used as a supplemental text in law schools for teaching legal ethics and professional competence.
To date, the scholar continues to be involved in high-level legal matters, including serving as a joint administrator for significant estates, as seen in Court of Appeal cases, the most recent being that of July 2025.

His daughter, Susan, is a prominent advocate of the High Court with over 15 years of experience, who has followed her father’s path, having trained at Makerere University and specializing in conveyancing and family law.
