Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo held a high-level meeting with President William Ruto on Tuesday evening at State House, Nairobi.
In a social media post, Chivayo highlighted Kenya’s growing economy to regional investors, particularly in the energy sector.
Chivayo described the meeting as both insightful and inspiring, citing discussions centered on leadership, development, and Africa’s economic future.
“Yesterday Evening I Once Again Had the Privilege of Paying a Courtesy Visit on H. E. President William Samoei Ruto at State House in Nairobi. As always, I Was treated to a warm reception that never ceases to humble me,” said Chivayo.
Kenya’s Growing Energy Sector Attracts Attention
During the meeting, Chivayo praised President Ruto’s leadership, emphasizing his commitment to servant leadership and nation-building.

He noted that the interaction offered valuable perspectives on governance and development.
“The president shared with me nuggets of wisdom rooted in the simple but powerful principles of servant leadership that extends a helping hand to those in need. He reiterated his consistent and undying passion of building Kenya and Africa into something better and greater than what we inherited from our forefathers,” Chivayo said.
He also highlighted the significance of being granted time by the Head of State, describing it as an opportunity to gain insights from a leader with a demanding national and continental agenda.
The Zimbabwean businessman pointed to Ruto’s focus on uplifting lives and transforming Kenya into a stronger economic force, noting that such leadership continues to inspire young entrepreneurs across the continent.
Chivayo is a renewable energy expert, and during the meeting, he revealed that the ongoing geothermal projects in Kenya are transformative initiatives that have increasingly positioned the country at the forefront of sustainable power generation in Africa and are set to revive the Kenyan economy.

Chivayo Engagements with President Ruto
Chivayo described President Ruto as a true Pan-African leader committed to regional progress and cooperation.

The controversial businessman has also frequently visited Kenya and has been seen posing for photos with the Head of State and is best known for his social media posts flaunting his wealth.
Their interactions with President Ruto, often marked by smiles, warm gestures, and photo opportunities, have sparked curiosity and conversations about the nature of their engagement.
In February, Chivayo was among the individuals who were given the Kenyan passport, a matter that drew public attention and opposition, together with activists opposing the decision.
On January 11, the controversial businessman visited the State House to meet Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.
In 2025, Chivayo shared photos of himself with President Ruto and Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu at the State House in Nairobi saying that rich people in the world build networks.
The businessman is said to maintain close ties not only with the presidency in Zimbabwe but also with several high-ranking officials across Southern Africa
