The Kenya Air Force (KAF) has welcomed a new team of highly trained pararescue jumpers from Course No. 2/26 at the KAF Training Wing after a graduation ceremony held on February 12, 2026.
Deputy Commander of the Kenya Air Force (KAF), Brigadier Samuel Kipkorir, presided over the graduation ceremony on behalf of the Commander, Major General Bernard Walialua, and conveyed the Commander’s congratulations to the graduates for successfully completing one of the most demanding courses in the Service.
“The Deputy Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF), Brigadier Samuel Kipkorir, on behalf of the Commander Kenya Air Force, Major General Bernard Walialua, presided over the graduation ceremony of the new Pararescue Jumpers (PJ) Course No. 2/26 on Thursday, 12 February 2026, at the Kenya Air Force Training Wing,” read part of a statement from Kenya Air Force.
Kenya Air Force Welcomes New Graduates
Brigadier Kipkorir explained that the 10-month program equipped the graduates with specialized skills in personnel recovery, combat search and rescue, navigation, combat medicine, air operations, and close-quarter battle.

The trainees were exposed to demanding operational environments and adverse weather conditions to build endurance, resilience, and mission readiness.
“You have undergone rigorous and demanding training over the last ten months. The skills you have acquired in navigation, combat medicine, air operations, and close-quarter battle will define your effectiveness in the field,” said Brigadier Kipkorir.
During the ceremony, the Deputy Commander urged the newly qualified Pararescue Jumpers to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and discipline in all their duties.
“Carry these skills with discipline and commitment wherever you are called to serve. The Kenya Air Force expects you to remain steadfast, mission-focused, and ready to respond in any operational environment.”
KAF on Strengthening Operational Capability
The Deputy Commander noted that the graduation of Course No. 2/26 reflected the Kenya Air Force’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its personnel recovery capability and maintaining a highly trained force ready to respond to dynamic operational demands in support of national security objectives.
Members present at the ceremony included the Commandant of the Kenya Air Force Training Wing, Colonel Charles Munyao, senior officers, other service members, and course participants.

Candidates interested in joining KAF must meet the following general requirements:
- Must be a Kenyan citizen with a valid National ID.
- Present original documents and four copies of ID, KRA PIN, and academic certificates.
- Must be aged 18 to 39 years with no criminal record.
- Height and weight:
- Men: 1.60 m (5 ft 3 in), 54.55 kg (120 lb)
- Women: 1.52 m (5 ft), 50 kg (110 lb)
- Female candidates must not be pregnant during recruitment or training.
- Must be medically fit according to Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) standards.
