City lawyer Miguna Miguna failed to make the cut after missing the shortlist to become Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The list of shortlisted candidates set to replace Noordin Haji was released on Saturday, July 22 by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Out of the 48 candidates who applied for the DPP post, 15 were shortlisted.
Moreover, on July 11, Miguna announced that he submitted his application for the DPP position.
He had sworn to uphold the rule of law if appointed.
Furthermore, in a rejoinder to online users who told him he was missing from the shortlist, Miguna Miguna pointed out that he was still unaware of the development.

“The panel had stated that they would publish all the names of the applicants before shortlisting, but it appears they did not.” He tweeted.
Likewise, the outspoken lawyer also noted that he accepts the outcome despite not being shortlisted for the DPP position.
“I am aware that when you apply for something with others, you can get or not get what you sought.” He noted.
“So not having been shortlisted or appointed for the ppositionof DPP was part of the possible outcomes of my application, and I have no regrets for having applied. Miguna added.
Shortlisted Candidates
Some of the candidates who made it to the shortlist in their bid to replace Noordin Haji include former IEBC commissioner Thomas Letangule, lawyer Danstan Omari and advocate Taib Ali Taib.

Others are Jacinta Nyamosi, Victor Mule, Tabitha Ouya, David Ruto, Francis Andayi, Winston Ngaira, Peter Mailanyi, Lilian Okumu, Jacob Ondari, James Ndegwa, David Okachi and Renson Ingonga.
As such interviews for the candidates shortlisted for the Director of Public Prosecution post will be conducted on August 1 and 2, 2023.
In addition, aside from Miguna Miguna, other unsuccessful candidates include Michael Sanga, Yusuf Shikanda, Vincent Mogire, among others.
