Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has said he is ashamed to know Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Gladys Boss Shollei.
The senator on Monday, July 24, said he is embarrassed that Shollei taught him Law at the University of Nairobi.
“I feel so ashamed to know Shollei. It’s most embarrassing that she taught me law at the University of Nairobi,” he wrote.
Likewise, Sifuna noted that he was further embarrassed to call the deputy speaker a friend as it made him question his life choices.
“It’s even more embarrassing for me that I consider her a friend because it makes me really question my personal choices,” his statement reads.
Moreover, the senator went ahead to ask the Law Society of Kenya if certificates of dishonor were still available. Which can be translated to mean Shollei should be issued with a certificate of dishonor.

Why Sifuna is Angry
The Nairobi Senator made the remarks while responding to Gladys Shollei’s speech during a church service at Mwatunga Ground in Taita Taveta on Sunday, July 23.
Shollei while referring to statements by Bishop Nyangale and Sheikh Abdi Aziz stated that she had all along thought demonstrations were only illegal, but she learnt from the service that it is also a sin before God.
“Nimeskia kutoka kwa Bishop Nyangale na Sheikh Abdi Aziz, Umesema kwamba..mimi nilikua nafikiria kuwa maandamano ni hatia katika sheria. Lakini leo umetufunza kwamba pia ni dhambi mbele ya Mwenyezi Mungu.” Shollei is heard saying in the video.
She added “Kanisa imetupatia nguvu tuweze kupamba na wale watu.”
Azimio Protests
The sentiments by Boss Shollei came following anti-government demonstrations last week from Wednesday, July 19 through to Friday, July 21.
Moreover, the Raila Odinga-led coalition on July 22 announced that the nationwide anti-government protests will continue Wednesday, July 26 from 6am to 6pm.
The opposition is pushing the government to lower the cost of living and do away with the Finance Act 2023 that has provisions imposing more taxes of Kenyans.

The protests left several Kenyans nursing injuries and more than 20 people dead.
Furthermore, the opposition leaders accused the government of using the police to promote genocide in Kenya especially in Luo Nyanza and parts of Nairobi.
