It came barely a month after Attorney General (AG) Justin Muturi okayed his selection in January.
For his part, the AG said that there was no law barring the appointment of an acting MD from outside KPC.

Sang’s previous roles include a project economist with WHO-KEMRI, financial accountant with the National Oil Corporation of Kenya, management accountant with Unga Limited, head of finance for East African Breweries Limited (EABL), head of group performance and reporting for EABL Group, general manager of finance and strategy at KPC, and later MD in April 2016.
Sang holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management, both from the University of Nairobi.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and member of the Institute of Public Certified Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
