The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) was dealt a big blow after the judiciary nullified the election of two of its members.
In his Friday, March 2 ruling, Justice Alfred Mabeya of the Malindi High Court said Magarini MP Harrison Garama Kombe was elected irregularly.
The judge further stated that there was inconsistency in the total number of votes tallied and votes captured on ballot papers.

Justice Mbeya further ordered a fresh election to allow the constituency’s voters to duly elect a new representative.
In another case, the High Court in Garissa annulled the election of Lagdera MP Abdikadir Hussein over grounds of irregularities during the voting exercise.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declared Hussein winner after he garnered 5,939 against United Democratic Alliance’s- UDA’s Abdiqani Zeitun who managed 4,863 votes.
