Harambee Stars winger Clarke Oduor (Clarke Sydney Omondi Oduor) came off the bench for Grimsby Town when they won against Manchester United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
Even though he missed his kick in the penalty shootout, his team went on to win the tie 12-11 at the end of the shootout.
Oduor was born in Siaya, Kenya, on June 25, 1999.
His football career started when he relocated to the UK at a young age.
Oduor joined the Leeds United Academy in 2010.
During this period, he represented the Leeds U18 Club and the Leeds United U23 team.
He made his debut for the Leeds United senior team in 2019.
This was his only appearance for Leeds United.
Leeds was playing against Queens Park Rangers in the third-round FA Cup fixture.
Clarke Oduor Joins Barnsley
Oduor joined Barnsley on August 1, 2019, signing a four-year deal.
He made 57 appearances for the Club across the four seasons playing in League One, EFL Trophy, EFL Cup, Championship and FA Cup.
Oduor scored one goal for Barnsley during his time at the Club.
This was in July 2020, when Barnsley defeated Brentford 2–1 at Griffin Park.
Callum Styles opened the scoring for Barnsley in the 41st minute, but Josh Da Silva equalised for Brentford in the 73rd minute.
Oduor then sealed a dramatic victory for Barnsley with a 90+1′ stoppage-time goal.
His goal helped Barnsley avoid relegation and ended Brentford’s hopes of automatic promotion to the Premier League.

In the 2022/2023 season, Oduor joined Hartlepool United on a season-long loan from Barnsley.
He played 14 matches, recording one goal and two assists.

He played 66 matches, scoring six goals and providing five assists.

Grimsby Town confirmed Oduor’s signing on the evening of Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
Oduor went ahead to make his debut in the EFL match against Manchester United hours after joining the team.

He made his debut in 2022 during a friendly against Zambia.
