The Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports has announced a Ksh900,000 Prize Party competition for Kenya’s 2024 Olympics games’ kits-designs.
Through a notice on January 20, 2024, the National Olympic Committee-Kenya (NOC-K) announced that the committee has officially kicked off the hunt for the country’s Olympics kit designs.
“Designers, creatives, are you ready? Up to Ksh900,000 up for grabs in the Olympics Team Kenya Paris Olympics kits design contest,” read part of the notice.
NOC-K noted that the deadline for design submissions will be January 31, 2024, with the selected designs being copyrighted by the nation.
The ministry in a statement called upon designers from all over the country to send their designs and embrace patriotism.
“It’s time for our Kenyan designers to shine! Make Team Kenya shine on the River Seine in Paris, send in your designs,” read part of the statement.
According to the notice, the winner will take home Ksh300,000, with the 1st and 2nd runners up taking home Ksh200k and Ksh100k each.
“They serve as a visual representation of a country’s identity, culture, and pride on the global stage,” said NOC-K.
Furthermore, three distinctive Ceremonial kits are required for Kenyan athletes during the Paris 2024 Olympics.

NOC-K said that the kits offer a visually striking representation of the country, playing a role in establishing it as a force to be reckoned with in the world of sports.
Olympics kits
The first kit up for the competition is the Opening Ceremony Kit, which according to the committee, should be a meticulously crafted design.
Its design should also be a vibrant tapestry weaving together Kenya’s rich cultural heritage.
The committee is looking forward to having the opening ceremony kit designed to make a bold statement on the global stage, symbolizing the nation’s unity, pride, and athletic prowess.
On the other hand, the Closing Ceremony Kit set to be worn at the end of the games is a also up for grabs in the competition.
“It is envisioned as a conclusion to our Olympic journey, celebrating the collective achievements and camaraderie of Team Kenya,” noted NOC-K.
Finally, the last kit featured in the competition is the Casual Uniform Kit set to be worn by Kenyan athletes as a Casual Uniform during the games.
The kit should effortlessly represent the team’s relaxed yet resolute spirit, fostering a sense of unity and identity beyond the competitive arena.

Additionally, the Olympic committee team highlighted other aspects to be considered by the designers.
These include, featuring Kenya’s color kaleidoscope, rich cultural heritage, a bit of class, poetry in motion and elegance on the Seine River among others.

Also, the designers should put in mind a blend of tradition and elegant modernity, comfort, youthfulness and a collection that the athletes will be proud to wear.

Paris 2024 Summer Olympics

The two were named in the first provisional squad of twenty men and women marathoners.
Also, Kenya national volleyball team Malkia Strikers and men’s rugby team Shujaa 7s have already booked their places for the sporting extravaganza.
