The father of the late X influencer, Albert Ojwang, has broken his silence over the tragic death of his son in police custody in Nairobi.
Speaking to the press outside Central Police Station in Nairobi on Sunday, June 8, the grieving father, Meshack Ojwang, recounted the chilling events leading up to Albert’s arrest in Migori on Saturday afternoon.
According to him, a group of officers arrived at their home in plain clothes and handcuffed his son without any formal explanation.
“They were even laughing when they came to arrest him. My son did not even have the chance to eat, they took him and put him in cuffs,” he said.

Additionally, he said that when he tried to question the officers about the reason for the arrest, the response was cold and dismissive.
“I asked them why they were arresting him, and the officers said that my son had seriously insulted one of their bosses on X. So I asked what my son had said, and they told me to keep quiet and follow them to the police station in Nairobi,” added the mourning father.

At the same time, Kenyan Activist Hussein Khalid confirmed the lifeless body of Albert Ojwang had been taken to City Mortuary following his death.
Reports indicate that Ojwang while in police custody, Ojwang was found dead in his cell.
After his arrest, he was driven to Nairobi and detained at the Central Police Station.
However, his close friends and family said Ojwang’s name was never entered into the Occurrence Book (OB), a standard police procedure during arrests.

By Sunday morning, word of his death had surfaced.
According to the family, officers claimed that the X influencer had harmed himself during the night while in custody and was taken to Mbagathi Hospital.
Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on arrival. The explanation has sparked anger among Kenyans online, with many accusing the police of a cover-up.
