Embakasi East Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Dr Paul Ongili popularly known as Babu Owino would beat Governor Johnson Sakaja if elections were to be held today, a poll by Mizani Africa has revealed.
The poll announced on March 18 revealed that the majority of Ruaraka voters would vote for Babu Owino ahead of Sakaja and Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi.
In the analysis, 68% of the voters supported Babu Owino followed by Wanyonyi at 15.1% and Sakaja at 12.2%.
President of the East African Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Richard Ngatia had 4.2% while businesswoman Agnes Gakure had 2.2% of Ruaraka votes.
Dr Babu Owino would beat his opponents by a sizeable margin in Mathare Constituency in the gubernatorial contest.
From the survey, the MP got 52.1%, Wanyonyi came second with 22.1% followed by Sakaja with 12.3%.
Gakure had 2.2%, Ngatia 1.1% while 8.2% of the voters are still undecided.
Babu would also emerge as the favourite gubernatorial candidate in Embakasi West if elections were held today with 54.2% of the votes.
The others are as follows: Sakaja 13.6%, Wanyonyi 13.2% and Ngatia 7.1%.
Babu Owino 2nd in Two Constituencies
The MP appeared second in Westlands and Lang’ata Constituencies after Tim Wanyonyi.
Wanyonyi is the most favorite gubernatorial candidate in Westlands with 74.5% followed by Babu Owino with 8.1%.
Sakaja has 7.4% of the votes ahead of Ngatia’s 3.2% and Kagure’s 1%.
Similarly, Wanyonyi led in Lang’ata with 42.8% followed by Babu and Sakaja with 28.4% and 25.0% respectively.
Babu came in third in Roysambu with 10.2% after Wanyonyi (40.1%) and Sakaja (31.5%).
Bungoma Gubernatorial Race
According to the poll, Kimilili MP Didmus Wekesa Barasa would emerge as the next Bungoma governor if elections are held today.
Barasa had 51.1% of the votes ahead of former governor Wycliff Wangamati 28.9%.
Wavinya Ndeti 2nd in Machakos
Mavoko MP Patrick Makau also led in Machakos County gubernatorial race with 45.2% of the votes.
Makau came top ahead of governor Wavinya Ndeti who is ranked second with 36.4%.
Commissioner of Parliamentary Service Commission and former senator Johnstone Muthama got 1.1%.

Orengo Would Still Win in Siaya
Siaya governor James Orengo would easily be re-elected if elections were held today.
Orengo led the gubernatorial race with 61.1% followed by his main competitor Nicholas Ngumbo (17.8%).
Deputy Governor William Oduol is third with 9.7% while 9.2% of the voters are undecided.

Vihiga County Gubernatorial Race
Vihiga County Senator Godfrey Osotsi led in the race to succeed Governor Wilber Ottichilo who is serving his last term.
The senator got 48.4% ahead of Emuhaya MP Omboko Milemba with 20.5%.
Other notable names in the race are former governor Moses Akaranga (5.6%), Vihiga County Women Representative Beatrice Adagala (3.2%) and Makadara MP George Aladwa (3.2%). Mizani Africa said it polled 4,500 Kenyans with an average of 100 correspondents per constituency.
