Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Saturday, September 2, traveled to Voi via the Standard Gauge Raila (SGR).
The former Vice President was traveling to Voi to attend the burial of Constance Mwandawiro, who he says was a servant of the Wiper Party.
During his trip, Kalonzo interacted with other passengers who boarded the train.
“While I was perusing John Grisham’s “The Firm” novel on this beautiful trip to Voi on our SGR and had a chance to converse with commuters, the words written by another great author David Baldacci came to mind: “This train is alive with things that should be heard. It is a living, breathing something – you just have to want to learn its rhythm,” wrote Kalonzo.
Additionally, Kalonzo made stops at Mtoto Andei and Kibwezi in Makueni.
“I’m at what was the barter trade station for long traders that is Mtito Andei; listening to Kenyans of trade, exchanging ideas and thoughts and yes, numbers.
We’ve had a brief stop for a stride out at Kibwezi, Makueni County. I’m enjoying recollecting history: Kibwezi is the colonialist version of “Kivisi” meaning young man,” said Kalonzo.
Kenyans engage Kalonzo
Netizens commended Kalonzo for using the SGR despite his social status – he could have flown to the Coast within minutes.
Don Seth wondered how Kalonzo managed to study while on the SGR, which is a fascinating experience.
“Kalonzo Musyoka on-board the SGR to Voi: Where does the power to concentrate on reading come from? And stares outside because adventure is food to the eyes already!” asked Don Seth.
Also, Roy Obwanga recommended Kalonzo to read ‘The Partner’ adding that ‘The Firm’ is also a good book.
“Thank you, Roy, I will put it in my reading list,” replied Kalonzo.

As expected, some Kenyans claimed that the act was a political move aimed at the 2027 general election.
Abala Kinyua claimed that Kalonzo is officially campaigning for 2027.
Further, Kinyua praised Kalonzo adding that supporters of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga already know who will lead the Azimio Coalition.
“Hon Kalonzo Musyoka small acts like travelling on SGR today to make it to the trending news on a daily basis will ultimately make him a force in the future presidential elections and probably inherit Raila Odinga. Time will tell,” said Zedekiah Cherugut.
Start the campaigns now and don’t stop. At least we will have a polite president who doesn’t get easily irritated,” said Drew.
Trust in Public Transport
A user named Billionaire Effect said the move showed that he has faith in Kenya’s transport system.
“Building trust in Our transport system. Congratulations and well done,” said Evans Musyoka EGH.
“Wonderful to see you putting trust in our public system, kudos Musyoka,” wrote M. Charles.
Others also thanked Kalonzo for accompanying and lighting up their trip
“Ohh Your Excellency, how good of you to give us company, engage us and spice up our safari!” stated Stevmwaz.
However, some Kenyans asked Kalonzo Musyoka o also try using public service vehicles and the life of the common citizens.
“Now that you’ve hopefully learnt the rhythm of the SGR, you should also consider learning the rhythm of things alive in Tahmeed, or Ena coach,” said Kenny.

According to Elsa Wild Adventures other politicians should follow Kalonzo’s footsteps and border the SGR.
SGR
SGR connects Mombasa City and Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya.
It is one of the biggest infrastructure projects to be carried out in Kenya.
SGR line supports passenger and cargo transportation.
Further, it shortens passenger travel time from Mombasa to Nairobi from more than ten hours to a little more than four hours.
