Ken Chonga is a prominent politician in the coastal region of Kenya. He is currently set to replace Runyenjes Legislator Eric Karemba as the Chairperson of the influential Labor Committee.

Ken Chonga Career
Chonga joined Parliament in 2017 as the Member of Parliament for Kilifi South, defeating the incumbent Mustafa Iddi, who had previously been with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) but defected to Jubilee.
Within the ODM party, Chonga serves as the Deputy Party Organizing Secretary General. He was re-elected in the 2022 general elections and continues to serve as a legislator to this day.

Since entering the National Assembly, Chonga has been a member of several committees. From 2017 to 2022, he served on the Energy Committee and the Broadcast and Library Committee. Before joining Parliament, Chonga held various positions in government, including Assistant Secretary General in the Ministry of Local Government and Branch Manager of the National Social Security Fund.
Education
Chonga holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), which he completed from 2015 to 2016. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nairobi.

Chonga completed his Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) studies (A Levels) at St. Stephen’s High School in Kisii from 1985 to 1986.
He obtained his Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) (O Levels) from Dr. Krapf Memorial Secondary School from 1981 to 1984. For his primary education, he pursued his Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) at St. Martins Primary School from 1974 to 1980.
