Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria has revealed details of the meeting he held with Azimio Leader Raila Odinga on Monday, August 5, 2024.
Earlier, Raila Odinga Junior, son of the opposition leader, posted a photo of himself with Moses Kuria and his father, sparking debates on what they discussed.
“Hanging out with my good buddy Moses Kuria. Tuko jobless corner. Vibes and inshallah,” Junior captioned the photo.
In a follow-up statement, Kuria explained that he met Raila at his Capitol Hill office in Nairobi CBD, where they talked about issues currently facing Kenya.
“This morning at Capitol Hill, I held a meeting with my friend Raila Odinga. We discussed various issues facing the nation at the moment,” he said.
Kuria stated that he thanked the former Prime Minister for saving the country, adding that they will work together going forward.
“I thanked Baba for bending backwards (yet again) to save the country from self-destruction. We were unanimous that going forward we cannot continue to prescribe panadol where surgery is required,” Kuria said.
He explained that the government will continue working closely with all, stating that the planned national dialogue will provide long-lasting solutions.
“The upcoming process of national dialogue must and will culminate in deliberate structural reform for a lasting solution. We will work very, very closely in that endeavor as we continue to consult with other like-minded leaders,” Kuria said.
This comes a few days after Kuria flagged a viral post claiming that he had been appointed the next Ambassador of Ukraine after he was sacked by President William Ruto.
Moses Kuria Dismisses Appointment
In a statement on July 31, Kuria stated that the information circulating on social media is fake and should be ignored.
“It has come to my attention that false information regarding my appointment as the Ambassador to Ukraine is being circulated by various bloggers,” Kuria said.
Kuria stated that any appointment will be communicated through his official social media accounts on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).
“I would like to clarify and assure everyone that credible and accurate details about any new appointment will only be shared through my official Facebook page Hon. CS Moses Kuria and my verified X account @HonMoses_Kuria,” he added.
The former CS flagged the viral poster which featured his photo alongside those of former Gender CS Aisha Jumwa and ex-Sports CS Ababu Namwamba. Jumwa was alleged to have been appointed as the Kenyan Ambassador to Switzerland, while Ababu Namwamba was rumored to have been appointed to Chad.
