Githunguri Member of Parliament (MP) Gathoni Wamuchomba has alleged that former second lady Dorcas Gachagua has been locked out of the official Deputy President’s residence in Karen, Nairobi.
In a statement on November 6, Wamuchomba claimed that Pastor Dorcas has faced unnecessary hurdles in accessing the residence following the swearing-in of Kithure Kindiki as former DP Rigathi Gachagua‘s replacement.
The MP further stated that Pastor Dorcas has encountered difficulties in accessing her belongings particularly her ministerial clothes while questioning the reasons behind these tribulations.
“Nguo za mchungaji Munafungia huko Karen za nini? Ama ni exhibit ya next accusations? Mama Boyz amewakosea waapi jameni? Reminder: Power is transient,” she said Wamuchomba in a statement on X.
This loosely translates to, “Whay are you locking up the pastor’s clothes in Karen? Or is it an exhibit for the next accusations? Where has Mama Boyz wronged them? Reminder: Power is transient.”

This comes following the swearing in of Prof. Kindiki as Kenya’s third deputy president on Friday last week with the ceremony having been cleared by a three-judge bench after Gachagua was impeached by the National Assembly and Senate.
Gachagua on life after impeachment
Earlier on Tuesday, Gachagua while speaking during the burial of Lucy Wambui Ng’ang’a highlighted the positives that have come with his impeachment.
The former DP while highlighting that everything in life has both positive and negative aspects, asserted that his impeachment is no exception and shared that he and his family have more time for friends.

Gachagua stated that he now has the opportunity to visit friends with his family and enough time for religious leaders and Bible studies.
“Probably, with what has happened to us in leaving office, at least the positive thing is that we have more time for friends. You know everything that happens has a good and a bad side; we have a lot of time for friends, and they are very important,” he said.
At the same time, Gachagua explained that finding real friends is not easy, reiterating the importance of having such people in life.
He added, “We now have the opportunity to visit our friends. Last Sunday, I spent a lot of time with Bishops. I didn’t have time to read the Bible before, but now I can look at various interpretations, and we will be able to do that regularly.”
Staff at DP’s office sent on compulsory leave
The claims by MP Wamuchomba also comes after Gachagua suffered yet another blow following the decision by the government to send some staff members at the DP’s office on compulsory leave.
According to a memo dated October 19, 108 senior officers and advisors were affected by the immediate orders which required them to comply by 12. noon of the same day.
Among those affected by the orders communicated by Principal Administrative Secretary Patrick Mwangi and copied to Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, were all officers in Job Groups T and U and all serving officers in Supernumerary Contracts.
