Opposition leader Raila Odinga has claimed that the Kenya Kwanza administration plans to take Kenya back to the days of the one-party system that was present during the late President Moi’s regime.
Moreover, through a statement released on Sunday, February 19 containing details of the resolutions made during a public baraza in Kisumu County, Raila Odinga alleged that the fears being spread by government is suppressing the gains made in the “rights and freedoms they fought for”.
The Azimio leader claimed that the Kenya Kwanza administration is trivializing the motive of having elections and that they are making other parties seem insignificant.
“Elections are beginning to count for nothing. The suffering of the people now counts for nothing. Parties other than the one in power are being made to count for nothing Kenya Kwanza is taking us back to single-party era of Mtukufu Rais,” said Raila.
Furthermore, Mr. Odinga noted that he fears their struggle for freedom will become obsolete, adding that they will be robust in opposing the realization of Kenya Kwanza’s alleged intentions.
He also stated that they will be tough on “freeing the country from electoral theft and the course of elections whose results are predetermined.”
“We are here to ring-fence multiparty and ensure it is irreversible. We are here to end the fear of illegitimate authority,” he said.

“We are here to ensure that Kenya is governed by men who understand and subscribe to ideals of integrity and who are aware of the great trust and the responsibility required to run a nation.” Raila added.
Likewise, the opposition chief affirmed that they will ensure that efforts to mitigate the economic crisis burdening Kenyans will be fully implemented.
“We are here to ensure that government works and cares for people. To ensure that when people say that the cost of unga, electricity, and school fees are too high, the government will listen.” Mr. Odinga noted.
According to the Azimio leader, the motive behind their action plan is for posterity.
